What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections help to prevent wrinkles from occurring in the skin. They are used to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the skin. It can also help with medical conditions such as, excessive sweating and teeth grinding. Botox will need to be given in larger doses for men as their muscles are stronger.

Can I have the treatment?

This treatment is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18, pregnant and breastfeeding mums, anyone with a skin infection, anyone feeling unwell in any way, anyone with a neuromuscular condition or if you're taking certain medicines.

When will I notice a difference?

You will not see a change straight away. It takes about 2 or 3 days to start working. You will notice that on day 5/6 your muscles will start to feel heavy and hard to move. You'll be able to see the maximum results on day 14; you should return for a consultation appointment between 10-14 days for the Aesthetician to check if you need a top-up. After 17 days, your body will begin to break down and remove the anti-wrinkle injections from your body.

How long do Anti-Wrinkle injections last?

The amount of time anti-wrinkle injections lasts vary from person to person as it all depends on how quickly your body gets rid of the solution. Anti-wrinkle injections is not a permanent solution- it usually lasts around 2 to 4 months. It is advised to wait 3 months before receiving treatment again.

How Can I Prepare For My Appointment?

Most people don't feel too much discomfort during the procedure, but you may want your skin numbed beforehand, especially if your armpits are being treated for excessive sweating. Avoid any anti-inflammatory medication and alcohol at least 24 hours before the treatment.

What Possible Side Effects Are Caused From Fat Dissolving Injections?

After treatment you may experience any of the following symptoms; a headache and flu-like symptoms for the first 24 hours; bruising, swelling and redness where the needles went in the skin. These Symptoms will typically clear after a few days.

Aftercare Advice

  • No rubbing or massaging the injected area for 24 after treatment, including facials.

  • No strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

  • Avoid sunbathing (including using sunbeds), and the sauna for 2 days after treatment.

  • Keep upright for 4 - 6 hours after treatment- no lying down on your front or back.

  • Avoid headwear that is tightly fitted across the forehead.

  • Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours after treatment.

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory medicine for 24 hours after treatment, you may use paracetamol if needed.

  • Avoid wearing makeup on the area for 24 hours after the treatment.​
