What Is Dermal Filler?

Dermal filler is a soft tissue filler injected into the skin at different depths to help build volume, and augment facial features. People choose to get dermal fillers to enhance their facial features or gain a more youthful appearance. Injectable hyaluronic acid is a type of temporary dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally through out the body.

What are the benefits?

Many people see results of dermal fillers right away. The injections usually take less than an hour. Because it's a nonsurgical treatment, recovery time is minimal. They usually last between 6 and 18 months. Dermal fillers are also a less expensive alternative to elective surgical procedures.

Can I have the treatment?

This treatment is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, anyone with active facial or oral herpes infection, anyone with an infection in the treatment area, anyone with uncontrolled diabetes or blood-clotting problems and anyone with an allergy to any components of injectable hyaluronic acid. Please inform us if you have any questions about this prior to your treatment.

When should I book my next appointment?

It may take several sessions to achieve your desired look. Before booking your next treatment, you must wait two weeks or longer - if the area has not properly healed yet.

How Can I Prepare For My Appointment?

For one week prior to your Lip Filler appointment, avoid blood thinning medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen. For one week prior to your Lip Filler appointment, avoid supplements, including St. John's Wort, Cingko biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E.

What Possible Side Effects Are Caused From Fat Dissolving Injections?

Immediately after your dermal filler treatment you may notice a few of the following things: swelling, bruising, red needle puncture marks, lumps and bumps and redness. These issues are common with dermal filler, and should resolve over the next few days to weeks. Your final result will be seen at about 2-4 weeks after treatment, then you can be reviewed to see if further treatments are required to achieve the planned results.
